About me!
My name is Abigail King and I am a current senior at Seton Hill University majoring in Mass Broadcast Communications and minoring in Legal Studies. I am also set to graduate in May of 2026 and after graduation, I would love to enter an entry-level position with a Pittsburgh sports team utilizing my communications background, knowledge of social media and broadcasting, and experiences working in various fields.
I have always been an active supporter of the Pittsburgh sports teams and value the mission that each team provides and the community outreach each does. I grew up in a household where hockey, baseball, and football were on our television screens every time they played and through that, developed a love for the work that happens behind the playing field. One thing that made me choose a Pittsburgh team to support is their commitment to their fan base and making experiences at any sporting event one to remember.
My courses in my undergraduate as well as leadership opportunities that I have taken for my major have prepared me to think critically, be creative, public speak, create be an ethical and organized leader, handle crises, learn about the platforms of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and Youtube, learn about Canva, CapCut and iMovie for editing and content creating, and collaborate with others. Previous work is included in the "Projects" tab and each have a description underneath from the various experiences I have participated in over the years.
I also interned at the Tribune Review in 2022 as a sports journalist and a score inputter for a year. Through my time there, I learned how to write in a journalistic style and develop my interpersonal skills through interviews with coaches, players, and staffing members. I also help a local Pampered Chef Director run her business and create social media content for her on Canva and CapCut editing to use on her website, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook platforms. I also utilize Project Broadcast, Pampered Chef Table and Connection Point for her business.
I currently reside in Mount Pleasant, PA with my parents, 2 dogs, 13 chickens, 2 ducks, and a hamster. I am also a part-time server at Valley Dairy Restaurant #2 in Mt. Pleasant and have been employed there for 3 1/2 years. I love to travel and I am a huge Walt Disney World and Universal fan! When I am not busy, I love to explore the outdoors through a good hike, get into a good movie series or spend time with those I love. I also value giving back to the community and I currently serve as the colorguard instructor at Southmoreland Area High School for their marching band program and as an assistant choreographer for the Mount Pleasant Student Theatre program!
